Four teams will remain in contention for the 2025 FIVB Volleyball Men’s World Championship trophy once quarterfinal action concludes on Thursday night at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.
Czechia battled Iran, while the United States faced Bulgaria, with the winners advancing to the semifinals and keeping their dream alive of lifting the iconic World Championship trophy.
The trophy itself stands 42.88 centimeters tall and weighs nine kilograms.
It is composed of 12 individual pieces, symbolizing the 12 players in a volleyball team’s rotation system, which converge to form a ball inside the structure.
Its colors transition from nickel to gold, representing a team’s journey to the world title. The base of the trophy is engraved with the names of past champions.
Crafting the prestigious piece required 120 hours of milling, 24 hours of hand polishing and mounting, and 60 hours of 3D programming, resulting in a design that embodies the sport’s core values: purity, performance, power, precision, and teamwork.
A total of 32 teams began their quest for glory earlier this month.
Now, only the very best continue to chase the ultimate prize.
